Post 9 Fall 2024

We are back! This was a short week but a lot of stuff happened! I bisqued the rest of my greenware in preparation to run a few glaze kilns and threw some stands for the work to be glazed with crystalline glaze. I will continue to make catchers for these firings and will be formulating glazes next week!

I have decided to use some of my personal clothes in my exhibition to give it more of a tie to me and be a stronger self-reflection of my experiences. I have a few more corsets to make and depending on how they come out of the kilns I may have to remake a few but so far I am excited about how the show will come together. I have made a few pieces for the bowl sale that will be happening on November 20th and hope to raise some funds for materials fees and studio costs!

Me and my fiance purchased a shed which will act as my studio when I graduate. I am very proud of the progress I have made with crystalline glaze and hope to continue that progression after I graduate. I am working on my body forms and continuing my hunt for lamp bases that are visually interesting to act as the stands for my forms.

Next week I hope to have some of my corsets fired and will post updates after the firings!
