Wood kiln week!!! This week is packed full of loading and firing and being at the wood kiln! I am so excited for my pieces to come out next Wednesday. I put 10 pieces and a corset in the kiln this year so I am excited to see how it all comes out!

I have two weeks until all of my pieces for my senior show are due but I am taking a week to absorb the joy of my last wood firing at Clemson. So far I have 4 under my belt now including this one and I couldn't be more appreciative to have gotten the opportunity to learn from my teacher John Cummings as woodfiring is his realm.

Next week I am going to run a few test kilns to make sure that all of my glazes are formulated properly and then its off to the races with firings! I plan to make a few backup corsets just in case the ones that I have don't come out the way I want them to. The crystalline glaze is beautiful no matter what but there are definitely key factors that I am looking for that I hope to achieve. I will also update next week when all of our stuff comes out of the wood kiln!

The next two weeks will be firing pretty much 24/7 as soon as one cools I will load another! I have the correct fabric and foam interfacing to finish all of my body forms and plan to create the last 3 stands rather than using lampshade bases. All of my work is due on the 25th and I am on track to have everything done in time! What a ride these 4 years have been, I have learned so many valuable lessons and skills that will continue to impact me long after my time here. As my show date grows near I am very excited to bring this experience to a close and continue moving forward on this path I have chosen outside of the walls of Lee Hall.

Also here's a picture of a rectangle cloud.

See y'all next week!
